Preseason Rankings – Boro Beatdown #1

Through a complex formula developed in the lower B wing by special education students sniffing glue, we are proud to announce the following team rankings based on their rosters, top players on that roster and overall player projected rankings.

We will be developing a different formula for weekly rankings once the season starts, however these are currently based purely upon the rosters on paper.

The rankings are scored with the top team being scored a 1.00 ranking and each team being correspondingly scored compared to how far away they are from the current top team. (e.g. The closer to 1.00 you are, the better you are)

1. Boro Beatdown – 1.00 Points
2. The Sparanos – 0.961
3. punjabi playboy – 0.934
4. Gabriel Brothers – 0.909
5. TBA – 0.906
6. HIGH OCTANE – 0.885
7. Gabe – 0.875
8. The Team Lives On – 0.851
9. In Ledonne We Trust – 0.835
10. ZSets – 0.634

Fenton Jumps Two Slots In Trade With Rossi

The first trade of the 2011 CTI season took place moments ago as Casey Fenton and Evan Rossi completed a trade which would move Fenton from his 5th slot in the first round to the third overall pick.

ROSSI RECEIVES:
1st Round (#5 Overall)
4th Round (#44 Overall)
6th Round (#68 Overall)

FENTON RECEIVES:
1st Round (#3 Overall)
9th Round (#99 Overall)
12th Round (#142 Overall)

“Our team felt that even though we moved up just two slots, and people may argue we gave up a lot, it’s an important maneuvering trade to get the best player on our board,” declared Fenton. “We had several other negotiations going on at the same time, but this fit exactly into our offseason plans.”

Last year Fenton made multiple trades which ended up netting him the first and fourth overall picks in the draft, could a similar strategy be in play?

Three Team Trade Rumors Circulate

Filed by Adam Schefter, rumors circulating the CTI airwaves about a possible three team trade involving David Zigerelli (who owns the 11th overall pick), Gabe Kachur (who owns the 8th overall pick) and an unnamed third team. Possibly Gabe’s brother Steve (who owns 7th overall) or Andy Selby (who owns 12th overall) could fit the bill.

What the deal could be? A straight slot for slot swap is unlikely and it may involve Zigerelli acquiring multiple first round picks as he was on the reverse of that last year, allowing Fenton to acquire multiple first round picks in multiple trades with him, and he may want to be part of that now.

With posts on the official board, there is also strong indication that the third team may be expansion franchise Jason Taddeo who said he wants to move out of the #2 slot to the middle of the draft, would he want to move all the way down to Ebag’s 8th slot? Perhaps if the price is right.

UPDATE: The new front runner in the Twittersvere appears to be #1 overall Jeff Rosso who made the ambiguous statement “I’m not saying I have or haven’t discussed anything with those two.” referring to Gabe Kachur and Dave Zigerelli. The question remains, who would get the #1 spot? Our bet is Zig who would immediately try and turn it around again for a second deal.

UPDATE #2: Rumors continue to come in saying the hold up is Zig not willing to part with additional picks and Gabe would come away with the #1 overall pick. Negotiations continue into the weekend.

Original Member, Carl Angeloff, Retires

In a shocking move, original franchise owner Carl Angeloff has abruptly announced his retirement from the Center Trojan Invitational. His playoff appearance last year earned him a guaranteed spot in this year’s league but he decided his heart wasn’t into it anymore and has decided to step down.

A brief statement from the league office read as follows: “CTI is indebted to Mr. Angeloff and his nine years of service and competition to the league. We wish him best in his future endeavors.”

Carl Angeloff finishes with a 56-62 career record, 9th all-time. He was also the league champion in 2004.

Angeloff’s retirement now leaves six open spots for next year’s league. Rumors are circulating that a retraction down to 10 total teams is likely with early nominees being given the green light to join as early as this upcoming Monday, the 18th.

Sean Salisbury Attacks Potential Future CTI Member Chris J. Nelson

The storm of Salisbury groupies attacked Chris J. Nelson today. It started with just a sly comment and escalated from there. One of Chris J. Nelson’s comments were deleted, it said: “Before I go, here’s my piece of advice: Don’t take dick pictures and send them with cell phones. PM me for more life lessons.” … This prompted Salisbury to say… what you can clearly see he said.

Nelson is referring to Salisbury “Pulling a Favre” back in 2007” and apparently Salisbury may be asking for Chris’ number soon.
